Friendly, Stylish, Functional Barriers: A Fencing Blog

Hi, my name is Kate, and I believe that whether you are putting up a white picket fence around your home or a barbed wire fence around your pasture, you deserve a fence that looks great and works well. Through the years, I have been on both sides of the fence. I have worked putting up fences, but I have also bought fences as a consumer. I decided to create a fence blog so I could share my knowledge and research with other shoppers, installers or anyone with questions. I hope you like these posts! When I'm not writing on this blog, I love to binge watch shows, read plays and take long meditative walks.

Why Chain-Link Fences Are Ideal If You Need to Segregate Land

When you have a large area of undulating land that you want to segment, you may want to tend to animals in one part and perhaps crops in another. In this case, you need to ensure that you get the right type of fencing and install it correctly. Could chain-link fences be the answer in your case?

Choosing Your Fence

Certainly, you will have many choices, but it's difficult to look beyond chain-link fences for a variety of reasons.

Suitable for Many Budgets

To begin with, they are quite cost-effective to buy and will not require an exorbitant budget to install.

Amazing Flexibility

You will also be able to choose from various types, with individual gauges, mesh sizes and a structure that can provide you with greater security. In fact, these fences come with different endpoints that can be twisted to provide a line that is very difficult to remove.

Keeping Your Animals at Bay

You may worry that some of your more enterprising animals could find their way underneath a chain-link fence as it has that flexibility. Yet, installing an additional tension wire below the fence line and ensuring that you use the correct endpoints will quickly deter any of your livestock and keep them in one place.

Installing over Undulating Terrain

As you have undulating land, you will be glad to hear that chain-link fences are quite easy to install over this type of terrain. You won't need to take too much time during installation and will find that these particular fences are more versatile than some of their other counterparts. Remember that it's best to use concrete footings from time to time to provide suitable anchors. These will be particularly important wherever the fence needs to change direction. In this case, you shouldn't run into any problems where the fence is exposed to prevailing winds.

Providing Great Security

You may also want to install a different type of chain-link fence across the property perimeter. The good news is that these fences come in different configurations and can be built to quite a height. In addition, you may be able to add barbed wire to the top if you are really worried about potential intrusion.

And finally, don't forget that chain-link fences are easy to see through by their very nature. Should anyone attempt to access your property without permission, some strategically placed CCTV cameras can capture all of the detail quickly and allow you to take action.

Additional Information

Get in touch with your fence contractor, and they'll introduce you to some of the other benefits associated with chain-link. For more information on fencing installation, contact a professional near you.
